JELV has a school wide program called the 5 Steps. Students will be taught the 5 Steps in the classroom and throughout the school year. The five steps are:

 

1. Safe Hands and Safe Feet

2. Try Your Best

3. Express Yourself (use your words)

4. Play Nice with Others

5. Stop and Think (make a good choice)

 

JELV also uses a program called Second Steps to help students effectively deal with strong feelings and difficult situations. In addition to second steps, we will be using Class DoJo to help teachers and parents stay connected and share about your child's day.

Group Rewards-Compliment Parties

Compliments are given when the entire class is given a compliment for following the 5 steps. When the class has 10 compliments, they may choose a reward. We might earn compliments in the cafeteria, during specials, in the hallway, etc.
